For example, tomorrow I have a regular student who is taking a class called, “Here is Your Ice Cream.” I’m pulling out my cute ice cream scoop reward for him, and I know he’ll love it because he loves talking about anything related to food! I also love preparing rewards using Google Slides or CamTwist. There are so many options out there, and I really enjoy tailoring my rewards to my students. What is your favorite part of teaching? I love preparing rewards for my classes. These students are often so excited about learning, and they are just so fun. I love teaching these little ones! My own daughter is around that age, so I have a soft spot for them. What age do you prefer to teach and why? With Gogokid, we have two levels called “K1 and K2.” We lovingly refer to students in these levels as “K babies” because they are typically the youngest students in the program. What state/country/providence do you teach from? I teach from Arkansas! There is a small group of teachers here, but we are proud! In “brick and mortar,” I have been teaching or tutoring in some capacity for about ten years. How long have you been teaching? I have been teaching with VIPKID since June of 2017, and with Gogokid since July of 2018. I knew enough about the company to feel good applying and began working for them right away. About a year later, I learned about a brand new startup called Gogokid. Once I realized that VIPKID was a real company with real teachers, I felt comfortable applying with them. As we all know, one of the hurdles in applying to an online ESL company is the fear that it’s a scam or an MLM (multi-level marketing) company. I chose VIPKID because, at the time, it was one of the only companies out there with enough information to feel legitimate. What company/companies do you work for? I work for VIPKID and Gogokid.
I love seeing her everyday stories on Instagram She also started a YouTube channel with awesome videos about teaching online. She shares adorable ways to connect with children (especially the littles) and has a wonderful sense of humor. She has been a great friend on Instagram since I began my journey with VIPKID.
